WELCOME!

My name is Mrs. Dean and I teach Chorus and piano at Coosa High School.

I am excited to reconnect with my returning students and eager to meet my new students and to begin to build new relationships with you!

We will have fun, but we also have so much to learn! It is my hope to develop independent musicians. It is an exciting process that we will walk through together.

This year, Miss Lauryn Roland will be working with us as a student teacher from Shorter University.

About Me

I graduated from Armuchee High School in 1980. I attended Shorter College where I received a Bachelor's of Church Music in 1984 and a Bachelor's of Music in Piano Pedagogy in 1986. I taught piano privately and worked as an accompanist or choir director in several churches until 2004.

I began my career in public education in 2004. I taught for one year at Garden Lakes Elementary, thirteen years at Coosa Middle School, and am beginning my sixth year at Coosa High School.

I have continued my education by completing my Master's in Music Education in 2018 at West Georgia University and my Specialist in Music Education through Piedmont University.

I have also served as the Georgia Music Educator's Association District 7 Choral Chair-person for last two years.

These two are what bring me joy.
